TURIN
Turin is approximately 45 minutes away by car, and is a city well worth visiting. It was the first capital of the Kingdom of Italy, and still retains all the charm of a bygone era of ostentation and nobility. The royal palaces and estates scattered throughout the city and area make up a host charming landscapes that will leave you breathless. Another hallmark of the multifaceted city are its museums, such as its modern Automobile Museum, the fascinating Museum of Cinema within the landmark architectural monument of the Mole Antonelliana, and the world-famous museum of ancient Egyptian culture, the Museo Egizio. There are also plenty of city walks and arcades replete with exclusive boutiques and historic cafés.
LANGHE HILLS
About twenty minutes away by car, the Langhe Hills rise majestically in all their elegance. These hills of immortal charm were recognized in 2014 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offer breathtaking landscapes in every season of the year. During your visit to the Langhe, be sure to not miss out on strolling through quaint town centres, tasting fine wines from area’s world-famous wineries, taking a walk among the vines, and visiting the many castles that overlook historic villages.
CASTLES
The entire Piedmont Region is dotted with old castles steeped in history, particularly in the Province of Cuneo, with many notable castles in the Roero, Monferrato, Langhe and Monregalese Hills. Especially famous is Racconigi Castle, just 15 minutes by car from the hotel. Built from the year 1000 AD, it came into the possession of the royal Savoy family in the fourteenth century. In 1997, it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the other Savoy residences. With thousands of visitors each year, it has become one of the most visited residences.
